Question 1:
A
man fell off his bicycle. The man injured his left shoulder and fractured the
shaft of his left femur.
1.1 List
the
different types of blunt force trauma the man may have sustained as a result of
mechanical trauma. (20)
1.2 Discuss
the type of head injuries the man may have sustained if he hit his head against
a big rock when he fell of his bicycle. (20)
Question 2:
Differentiate between and discuss the classical
signs of the following forms of asphyxia:-
2.1 Smothering,
suffocation, choking and throttling. (20)
Question 3:
Describe how the application of
the Widmark formula can refute (disprove) an allegation that your client, a 65
kg women, were driving under the influence of alcohol as her blood-alcohol
concentration measured 0.14g%. Your instructions are that your client only
drank two glasses of red wine the entire night. You may assume that the alcohol
content of the wine is 12%. (10)

An electrician was shocked to
death. List and discuss the possible post-mortem signs caused by the electrical
current. (10)

Consider and discuss the common causes of maternal
deaths. (10)

A 20 year old female was raped. After reporting the
matter to the police she was taken to the district surgeon for a medical
examination. What injuries do you think will be noted on the J88 by the
district surgeon? (10)
